UAB Sparkman Center for Global Health is delighted to offer 2019 Statewide Case Competition. The Competition is an exciting and exclusive opportunity for undergraduate students from a range of universities across the state of Alabama to come together as multidisciplinary teams and suggest novel recommendations to a global health issue.
The program will award a total $3,000 to top three teams as 1st Place Team– $1,500, 2nd Place Team– $1,000 and 3rd Place Team– $500. The UAB and Statewide Global Health Case Competition were truly life changing experiences.

Who May Eligible:
- Undergraduate students are eligible.
- Students come from various universities across the state of Alabama to come together as multidisciplinary teams and propose innovative recommendations to a global health issue.
- Students will sign up as a team.
- It is recommended that each team have students from various schools/departments.
- An example for a team might be 1 undergraduate health professions major, 1 undergraduate public health major, 1 engineering major, and 2 undergraduate business majors.
How to Apply & Competition Rules

Rules:
Presentation is very important so please keep the following in mind as you prepare:
- Identify the strongest speakers in the group and select 1-2 people to present the strategy.
- Practice the presentation before delivering it and have other team members proofread and critique the final presentation.
- All team members must be present to answer questions from the judges. Prepare to answer questions that may force you to improvise.

The Statewide Case Competition will be released via email to the team captains on Monday, February 25th at 5 p.m.
